Another early rise saw Jess' brother Chris off to catch his bus to Jervis bay where he was performing a gig on the beach with some friends. Daz & Jon also headed back to the wok where they hoped to recoved their motel key. A couple of hours later, we got a call from the Wok saying that they'd turned up and misinterpreted the 'closed' sign as an indication that keys were unavailable and left. They soon found that Darren had had they key all along and went back to their motel to freshen up before rejoining us sitting on the balcony with beer again. Gav had picked up a selection of 'last day of the millinium' newspapers, with headlines in 200pt bold reporting the imminent end of the world. The attempted assasination of George Harrison was also detailled, not revealing whether he would make it through the new year or not. Our next adventure was a practice run for a new olympic sport - 'car cramming' in Tims car. This was an attempt to avoid the gathering storm clouds but get out to the rocks to see the infamous 'Australia rock' that we'd never heard of before. The rocks were rewarding. Out on the breakwater we climbed the concrete stars to see the wild ocean and the dark skies. Darren accurately described the rocks as 'hard' and noone disagreed. I got the wettest, and australia rock was really just a hole. Tim bought $5 of chips, but they were a bit soggy and far from perfect.
